Girl of the Month: Meet Loreana Von Plocki
Hello October! New month, new week, and a new post! My mantra has always been to stay close to people who feel like sunlight. Along the way, I've met amazing people, and I've built a community around them. My friends inspire me every day—in a recent brainstorming sesh with a dear friend of mine, she suggested I should highlight the women that inspire me and who embody the “de la heart” lifestyle. Who are they, how they do it, why, and everything in between. And that’s when the “Girl of the Month” feature came to life! Every month for the next year we will be featuring 12 “De La Heart” girls. A “De La Heart” girl is kind-hearted, community and family oriented, health conscious, ambitious, and of course—stylish! Meet Loreana, Colombian soul born in Munich, Germany and raised in Miami. Lore and I went to high school together at Palmer Trinity, that’s where we became friends. Fast-forward 10 years, Lore is now the mother of a beautiful little girl and the brain behind The Daily Bella—a Miami-based style blog. Find out more about our Girl Of the Month!
Name: Loreana von Plocki
Location: Coral Gables, FL.
Occupation: Founder of The Daily Bella, Content Creator and Digital Influencer.
Please tell us what you do for a living: I am the founder and content producer of the style blog - The Daily Bella. I recently quit my 9 year corporate career to pursue my dream of owning my own business. I am mother to a beautiful little girl named Isabella (hence the name of my blog). She is who inspired me to follow my passions and to dedicate my life to what I truly love.
Where does your love of feeling good and being healthy come from?
It all began after I had my daughter, I realized that I did not only want to look good after having her but also I needed to be healthy for her, both mentally and physically. I also truly believe that when you feel good inside and out you reflect that positively in all aspects of your life.
What’s your go-to fitness routine or regimen?
I exercise 5 times per week 45 minutes per day. My fitness routine consists of short but very high intensity workouts. I have tried different things throughout the years and have sort of combined what works best for me and my body. They are also workouts that can be done anywhere.
Where do you work out and why do you go there?
I work out from home! I am a mom and time for my workouts is very limited so working out from home it's very convenient for me. Nonetheless, I also like to "escape" from time to time to do spinning somewhere fun just to switch it up.
What is your approach to nutrition?
I am a true believer that you should be selective with what you put in your body. I know my body feels great and energized when I do. With that, I try to eat low added sugar, I take it easy on the carbs, I eat lots of fruits and vegetables and white meats such as chicken and fish. I am trying to quit red meat entirely but I love it so haven't yet!
What are your lifestyle “must-do’s” and your absolute “no ways”?
For me staying active at least 30 minutes per day is a MUST! When I don't, I feel like I am dragging and it definitely affects my mood. Staying active keeps me sane. A definite NO way for me is making excuses no to do it.
What’s the cheat treat you can’t resist?
Pasta! - especially bolognese with loads of Parmesan cheese :-).
What is the one beauty product you can’t live without?
I cannot live without witch hazel! I use it as a toner to cleanse my skin mornings and nights. It has significantly help me control blemishes. Best of all? It's natural!
What’s your beauty secret?
Learn to be happy with yourself. There is not better beauty secret, it's not taught, it comes from within. It's a process that will reflect beauty in all aspects of your life.
What brand of workout gear do you wear when working out and why? I am obsessed with Forever21 activewear! They have such good stuff and it's affordable. Quality is great too.
What’s the last book that you read?
Las Imperfectas by Cristy Marrero. So recommended. I laughed so much.
Describe your ideal “date night” outfit.
Whatever makes you feel comfortable! For me it's definitely skinny black pants or jeans, a cute top and heels (of course)! Simple yet sexy.
If you had to give your younger self one piece of advise, what would it be?
Follow your dreams and whatever makes your heart happy no matter how crazy it is, live everyday like if it was your last, surround yourself by people who love you for who you are, stop comparing yourself to others, embrace your suffering because it's what will make you strong, don't be afraid to love, family is everything, mom is always right and don't forget to always wear sunscreen 😜
