Lymphatic Health & Skin Glow

On the weekends, I love going to the farmers market to get us set for meal prep for the week & the occasional dip in the pool to cool off from the Miami heat! On these particular days of the week, I find myself more dehydrated than usual, inside & out. With all the running around & newfound freedom of fun as all the restrictions get lifted in my magical city, I find my day-to-day life busier than usual, meaning for movement & more dehydration.
Something I've had on my mind lately has been skin health & water intake. As you know, our bodies are made mostly of water, & our lymphatic system relies on high inputs of alkaline water to flush out toxins & disease. Personally, when I go off my routine when traveling or when the busyness of life gets to me, my skin begins to speak to me with unpredictable breakouts & occasional digestion issues.
If you can relate to what I am talking about today, here are some rituals I follow to keep my skin clear & my spirit vibrant:
  1. Wake up with intention. Every morning I wake up & meditate with a grateful heart. This practice has lowered my stress levels even on my busiest weeks, which results in better skin health day-to-day.
  2. Keep it alkaline. Not all water is created equal, & if you don't have access to alkaline water, one of the oldest tips on the books is adding a little bit of fresh lemon juice to your morning water to balance your body's PH levels & kick start your digestion.
  3. Drain & detox. Disease manifests in the body when we don't show it a way out. The two primary forms of detoxing our body are excretion & sweat. I've come to learn that through a fiber & water-rich plant-based diet, my digestion thrives & I feel like my best self, as I avoid any congestion of the lymphatic system by focusing on this part of my wellness.
  4. Lastly, I give my skin extra love by focusing on only using clean beauty products. I am a big advocate of only using things that have honest products & have little to no impact on the maintenance of our Mother Earth. Every day, I make sure to wear SPF to protect my skin, & if it's an extra sunny day, I opt for my Wide Brim Visor. As always, for all-over hydration, I carry our Body Oil Bundle with me & use it on my hair, face & body, making it a triple threat to say goodbye to dry summer skin.
Signing off with coconut water in hand, it's a hot one today!
With love & natural beauty,
