How To Build A Smoothie

Smoothies can be a great refreshing and light meal or snack for when you’re craving something fresh all year round. There are so many different ways to make a smoothie but the key, of course, is making sure your smoothie packs plenty of balanced nutrition from the essential nutrient groups. Once you know how to build a dense-filled smoothie, the combinations are endless and actually can be quite fun. Below i've put together a little smoothie formula to serve as a guide and also teach & empower you to build your own smoothie recipe. 


Pick Your Base: Choose One - (1 Cup)

  • Nut Milk ( Almond, Oat or Coconut)
  • Water
  • Coconut Water

Load Up On Greens: Choose One - (2 Handfuls)

  • Kale
  • Spinach

Choose A Fat: Choose One - (1/4 Cup)

  • Coconut Yogurt
  • Avocado
  • Nut Butter ( Almond, Peanut, Coconut, Cashew )
  • Coconut Meat

Pick Your Protein: Choose One - (1 Scoop)

  • Vital Proteins Collagen Powder 
  • Plant-Based Protein Powder - I love Moon Juice Adaptogenic Powder

Add In Your Fruits: Choose One - Frozen or Fresh - (1 Cup)

  • Pineapple
  • Mango
  • Banana
  • Blueberries
  • Dates
Superfood Add-Ins: Choose As Many - (1 Teaspoon)
  • Spirulina
  • Maca
  • Moringa

Top It Off: Choose As Many - (1 Tablespoon)

  • Goji berries
  • Hemp Seeds
  • Cacao Nibs
  • Coconut Flakes
  • Bee Pollen
  • Chia Seeds

Add all your ingredients into a Vitamix-like blender. Blend until smooth. If using fresh fruit, add ice to achieve desired temperature. Enjoy!
