Healthy Eats: Asparagus Soup

The source of youth comes from the earth...and you can find it at the grocery store. Preferably organic. That anti-aging wonder is asparagus. I'm applying all the knowledge I gained from my current favorite book Life-Changing Foods into every single one of my meals.
Asparagus contains chlorophyll, and lutein that act as critical organ cleansers. They flush organs such as the liver, spleen, pancreas, and kidneys. These phytochemical compounds provide a great avenue for heavy metal detox. If you suffer from migraines, thyroid problems, heavy metal toxicity, pelvis inflammatory disease, or acne...asparagus are definitely your food!

This soup is easy, simple, delicious, and FILLED with health and beauty benefits.

INGREDIENTS (Makes 2-4 servings)
5 cups chopped asparagus
1/2 yellow onion, chopped
2 garlic cloves
1 teaspoon sea salt
1 tablespoon olive oil
1/4 cup of coconut milk
black pepper to taste

Place the asparagus, yellow onion, and garlic in a saucepan. Add 2 cups of water; cover and bring to a simmer. Steam the asparagus for 5 to 7 minutes. Remove from the heat. Drain excess water and transfer the mixture to your Vitamin style blender. Add all the remaining ingredients and blend until smooth. Enjoy hot or cold!
