5 Easy Steps To DIY Rose Water

Making your own rose water is easy to do, specially if you have free time and are feeling a little crafty. You can either use dried or fresh rose petals, but the most important thing to consider is to make sure they're pesticide free. I opt for organic roses.

DIRECTIONS

  • Remove the rose blossoms from the stems & carefully rise them under cold water.
  • Add 2 cups of water plus 1 cup of rose petals into a saucepan on low heat – Let simmer for 30 minutes.
  • Remove the saucepan from the stove and carefully strain the rose water into a bowl.
  • Add 5 ice cubes into the bowl and place in fridge for 5 minutes.
  • Store in sealed container for up to 5 days in fridge.

BENEFITS

  • One of rose water’s greatest benefits is that it is high in antioxidants. This helps strengthen skin cells, regenerates skin tissue and protects the skin from free radicals.
  • Cools the skin down, particularly in warmer months, or if you live in a warmer state, your skin can become uncomfortably warm & dry. Using rose water as a toner effectively cools the skin and the results are instantaneous.
  • Creates vibrant, plump and youthful skin.
  • Helps to soothe & soften sensitive skin.
  • Rose water is high in vitamin A and vitamin C which helps reduce the appearance of fine lines & wrinkles by drawing in moisture to the surface of skin.

Pair it with your rose quartz Gua Sha or face roller to maximize the results.

  • Rose quartz is known for its skin nourishing properties and love energy.
  • Egyptians, Greeks and romans used rose quartz for its ability to slow down the aging process.
  • The vibrations of rose quartz are known to nourish, heal, promote joy and enhance the skin’s youthful radiance and beauty.
  • Contains minerals such as magnesium, oxygen and iron, which help to remove dead skin cells, reduce inflammation and promote healing.
