Gigi Lately: The season to retreat, reflect & recharge.

If you’re new around here, welcome. If you’ve been following me for a while, thank you. Either way, you should know that de la heart was born from my heart with the purpose of spreading love through beauty & wellness.

In 2017, I embarked on a journey of self-discovery toward mindful living, and as I found myself, I decided to share my lifelong best-kept secrets along with daily finds and wellness wins with my community. Since then, de la heart is devoted to making wellness accessible to more people and promoting a healthy and mindful lifestyle. And for me to share and continue to give out of a clean place, I must create space to disconnect to reconnect to myself. This is how I find balance to do it all…

MOST RECENT TRIP: 24 HRS IN THE BIG APPLE
I took a quick power trip to NYC to look for ways to expand and grow our business towards a more sustainable future. We met some incredibly talented people that expanded our minds about the future of the skincare & beauty industry. Came back with lots of new ideas & connections to continue to make De La Heart bigger and better. My rose water mist kept my skin hydrated throughout this hectic trip. We enjoyed of a few fabulous meals, an unbelievable 21-piece omakase @sushinakazawa, the blackboard special @barpitti, & breakfast at Tiffany’s in the newly renovated Daniel Boulud’s Blue Box Café. All in a New York minute!

HIGHLY RECOMMEND: RETREAT & RECHARGE
As a working mom of 2, living in one of the hottest cities in the world…life can get… exhausting. That’s why retreating and taking time for myself is essential for self-care and to maintain my overall well-being. I treated myself to @dedica’s yoga retreat in Nosara, Costa Rica. My friend Deanna aka @dedica put together the ideal escape for every yogi, surfer, and wellness enthusiast looking to connect further to nature and to themselves. I had the most incredible time, so I’ve compiled everything you need to know to plan your next me-treat.

MOST FREQUENTLY USED: NATURAL MOSQUITO REPELLENT
Let me tell you, mosquitos in the jungle don’t play around and they can get aggressive! So thankful to have our all-natural bug spray with me to keep mosquitos & co. at bay while in Nosara, CR. Make sure you’re picking and packing a bottle to bring in your summer travels because mosquito season is officially BACK.

MOST RECENT BEAUTY TREATMENT: MORPHEUS 8
Do you love it? Does it hurt? Yes and yes. It’s been a month since I did my first Morpheus 8 treatment on my face, neck and belly and I must say that I am very pleased with the results. I like to treat myself to the most cutting-edge and non-invasive beauty treatments, and the best part is that I get to share the results with you all. Go see my friends @skinlocal and book your next Morpheus 8 session using code DLH15 for 15% off your next treatment.

CURRENT WORKOUT: YOGA
As many of you know, I’m always moving my body. It's therapeutic, it’s a part of who I am. Being a long-term yogi I go through ebs and flows where all I want to do is practice yoga and others where I want to do is something else. All good. Just learning to move intuitively. With that, after the retreat I’ve found new and different depths of my yoga practice that I am so looking forward to exploring. Lets yoge!

CURRENTLY READING: INTERMITTENT FASTING TRANSFORMATION
Cynthia Thurlow is a women’s health expert whose viral TEDx Talk received more than 10 million views.  I've always been a fan of IF, but from my own experience, I learned that women need to fast differently than men. Barlow digs deep on this topic & is helping me understand the benefits of IF for women in her new book.
