Spring continues to be the season for energy and celebration. Mother Earth has woken up and the energy is moving; everything is blooming and colorful. We welcome the month of May by celebrating our mothers for giving us life. We move through the month with an energy of resilience, as we honor on Memorial Day Weekend everyone who has died serving in the American armed forces. Our girl of the month, Monica del Valle, teaches us to make lemonade anyway as she inspires people to overcome bitter moments in life by practicing gratitude, self-love and by choosing happiness.
I am a firm believer that life is not about what happens to you, but how you respond to it that matters. There is no easy way to sugar coat the truth that life at some point could be life-changing. Hard times will occur throughout our lives, but it is up to us to decide how we show up for them. We can choose to live the life we want, no matter how tough it can get. We can’t change the past. We cannot change the inevitable. We cannot control the way other people act. The only thing we can do is commit to our own happiness. Happiness is created through self-awareness. With self-awareness, you learn who you are, who you want to be and what it will take to get there. This draws you away from suffering, and brings you peace. Let's begin by taking responsibility of your own contentment. The choice is yours. Choose happiness and make lemonade anyway!
