Girl of The Month: Meet Marcie Wingate

Happy 2019, my dear friends!! New year, same me but with new intentions. My personal goal this year is health: spiritual, mental, physical, reproductive, & of course nutritional. I’m committed to taking care of myself so I can continue to fully show up in this life. Let’s commit to this intention together and hold each other accountable through the new year. Give yourself credit for taking care of your health and please know that every step (big or small) you take to heal has great meaning.
With that being said, I want to introduce our girl of the month of January: Marcie Wingate, teacher of awareness, founder and owner of Fancy Hippie, mom of 2 beautiful children, and a valuable member of the Miami community. Marcie is a lover of life, wellness, health, vibration and energy. Her curiosity for life keeps her trying new things and cultivating new talents. A beautiful journey from Vinyasa Yoga, exploration with plant medicines for healing, having kids and now Kundalini yoga and "Mommy and Me" circles. Get to know Marcie as we navigate through this month’s energy of opportunity and new beginnings.

Tell us a about your career journey.
It’s so interesting how a career in our western world shifts and transforms. I recently went to a lecture and the lady spoke about how in the Eastern Cultures we find out Dharma, Purpose then we build our career. This felt so relevant. In the West it’s about how you can make money, when often this leaves us a slave to the system and unfulfilled.
I started in Hospitality since that was familiar growing up in my family’s French Restaurant. Then I went to cooking school in Paris at Le Cordon Blue. It was a wonderful experience living in Paris but I left feeling unhealthy, unwell, my skin was a mess and I was dehydrated and my asthma was worse than ever. Then I found Yoga and Wellness. It’s been a beautiful journey from Vinyasa Yoga, exploration with plant medicines for healing, having my kids and now Kundalini yoga and Mommy and Me circles. My curiosity keeps me excited to learn, experience more and share with others fun and happiness.

Describe a day in your life.
A day in my life would be to wake up, sit by my window and meditate for 20-30min, kids wake up and give me snuggles, make breakfast, get kids dressed and take them to school/activities, workout, shopping, home, cooking food for the day, play with my daughter, walk the dogs, pick my son up go to the park, come home, eat dinner and talk to my kids. Presence for my kids and partner is the most important quality for me these days.
