Foods to Eat to Look Great Naked

Foods to Eat to Look Great Naked

I had a friend say this to me recently “My jeans are tight, but I look great naked! I don’t get it.” This comment made my analytical Virgo-brain go into a spin: do women want to look good naked or dressed? In my case, despite how many times my husband said I’m hot and that I look great…I still wanted to loose 5lbs! Today, being nine months pregnant I have a newly found respect and appreciation for my body. And if you haven’t gone through pregnancy or perhaps never will—you should embrace, love, and appreciate your figure (whatever shape that is!).

That said, I believe it’s healthy and totally okay to want to be the best version of yourself by setting realistic, healthy, and loving goals to achieve it. So what foods will help you look your best naked? By now, we all know there is no magic pill or secret so think fiber, alkaline foods, healthy fats, and lean protein.

Celery: Provides dietary fiber which boosts digestion. The high percentage of water and electrolytes in celery further prevents dehydration, and reduces bloating. Eat it, juice it, or blend it!

Cucumber: The low-calorie vegetable can fill you up and makes a healthy addition to your skincare routine. The cooling veggie is said to prevent dehydration and constipation. Include it in your salads, soups, or your smoothies.

Avocado: It’s a source of fiber and healthy fat, helping you stay “full” for longer and providing clean long-lasting energy. Big contributor to managing your weight.

Chia, Flax, and Hemp Seeds: Its soluble fiber absorbs large amounts of water and expands in your stomach, which increases fullness and acts as an appetite suppressant. They also pack a lot of nutrition in their tiny package since they are full of dietary fiber and omega-3 fatty acids. Omega-3s help reduce inflammation.

Fish: Eating top-swimming fish like salmon, sardines, anchovies, and branzino is a great addition to a healthy diet. Including fatty protein-rich foods may help you preserve muscle mass and gain definition while you lose fat.

By adding some or all of the foods mentioned above to your diet, you’ll be able to look and feel very good in your own skin. My non-dieting approach has helped me manage a healthy weight, energy levels, allergies, and social life through the past 7 years without driving myself crazy.
