Almond Oil For Pregnancy

When I was pregnant with my daughter, Shiva, I was looking for a natural and safe skin care product that will help me prevent stretch marks.
I then discovered sweet almond oil, which has been used by pregnant women both for consumption and as moisturizing for centuries. It is considered to be highly beneficial to prevent the formation of stretch marks. Stretch marks appear when the body is expanding faster than the skin can regenerate to accommodate for the fast growth. And prevention continues to be the smarter approach over treatment.
Almond oil moisturizes skin and increases the flexibility and suppleness of the skin. I applied this oil, daily, over stomach, thighs, breasts, and other parts of the body that are prone to develop stretch marks to prevent their appearance. And I was very pleased to report that it works. I didn’t get one stretch mark! Funny enough, the ones that I do have, are from when I was younger and didn’t take care of my skin. But none from either of my pregnancies.
Another way to put your almond oil to good use during pregnancy is by using it to massage your perineal area. The perineal area is situated between the vaginal opening and the anus. This area is prone to tearing because of childbirth. You can apply almond oil and massage the area for 5 minutes to make the skin supple and elastic.
Don’t take my word for its benefits, according to the New York Institute of Aromatic Studies, sweet almond oil, is excellent for healing and soothing the skin—especially in supporting cell health and potential regeneration. This is due to its amount of essential vitamins and trace vitamins. It’s a great choice for supporting the healthy immunity and resiliency of the skin.
So, whether you’re dealing with stretch marks or simply want to up the health of your skin, sweet almond oil is worth the hype.
